The 2012 Judson Boys Soccer season was one for the books. As I look back at teams that I have coached, the 2012 group of Rockets Soccer boys stands out for several reasons.

One was the success we had, it was the first time in 25 years that the Judson Boys Soccer team had won a District Championship and we also went 3 rounds in the playoffs that year and lost in an overtime heart breaker to a very good O’Conner team.

The second reason this group stands out is that our success was a reminder of the hard work and solid foundation that the previous Rockets provided for this record breaking group of young men. There are hundreds of young men that went through our version of Rocket Pride Soccer and it was a pleasure to see how our program started with very humble beginnings and small numbers to what culminated in the most successful season Judson Soccer had seen in 25 years and an enrollment in the program that was the equivalent to that of some of the area football programs. It is really a tribute to the student athletes and there efforts on the field, in the classroom, and in their community.

The last reason this season will always hold a special place in my heart is that it was my last season as the Head Coach of the Judson Rocket Boys Soccer. Heading into 2013, I would soon be taking the same position at another high school in the area and I would be saying farewell to the place I had called home since 2003. I will carry forever the challenging and great times experienced in our soccer program and my final prayer is that I hope to have made a positive impact on the young men who went through our programs doors. I know they have all made a positive difference in my life and I will always be grateful the the good Lord who provided me the opportunity to call such a great place home and to lead such an outstanding group of young men during all my time as the Head Coach of the Judson High School Boys Soccer Program. To all the former Rockets who played for our program I have attached a link to a few of the highlight videos that I created at the end of the season, I hope you enjoy.

And finally the Judson Soccer formula for progress, as provided by D.W. Rutledge, “Do your best and don’t sweat the rest, Winning will take care of itself.” Thank you to all who supported, actively participated, and help mentor the next generation of leaders from Judson High School.
